Scholarships 2008

 First Place Scholarship – $3,000 cash award

Second Place Scholarship – $2,500 cash award

Third Place Scholarship - $1,500 cash award

Middle Tennessee Trucking Industry Scholarship - $2,000 cash award

The scholarships are open to any student, graduate or undergraduate, attending college in Middle Tennessee and working towards a degree in International Business or a closely related area of study.

Eligible candidates must write an original 1000-word (minimum) essay. Please base your essay on the following:

The essay, together with a completed copy of this application form and a letter of recommendation from a member of the student's faculty must be returned to the World Trade Council by 5:00 PM CDT on October 16, 2008. Previous winners are not eligible.

Winners will be notified by October 23, 2008. The awards will be given at the World Trade Council "Ports & Flags" dinner in October of 2008.  Ports & Flags is Middle Tennessee's premier international business event attended by over 400 area international business executives, and is held at Loew’s Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel in Downtown Nashville. All four winners will be guests of the World Trade Council at Ports & Flags Night, where they will formally accept their awards.
